Meet Ann Barratt
Journalist Turned Novelist.
And Farmer.
Ann Barratt spent fifteen years as a journalist and photographer, with work published across the globe. She told other people's stories for a living, but writing her own took a little longer.
The dream started early: at sixteen, she wrote her first novel series—three complete books, still waiting their turn one day… maybe 2028?
When she's not writing, Ann runs one of the largest horse racing simulation games on the internet, owns a working off-track Thoroughbred farm in Tucson, Arizona, and runs a successful 501(c)(3) cat rescue with 750+ adoptions in five years. At any given moment, somewhere between 51 and 70 animals are depending on her.
She loves to travel but is terrified of flying. She loves having friends but is an introvert with a low social battery. She works from a custom-built library in her house, surrounded by over 1,300 books, and has preferred reading to television since she was a child.
She lives in Tucson, Arizona, with her husband and twin children and reads approximately 108 books a year.
